Bucharest Stock Exchange opens higher
The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened higher on Monday, with turnover reaching 14.19 million lei (2.8 million euros) 30 minutes after the start of trading.
The main index, BET, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded an increase of 2.73%, while the BET-Plus index, which tracks the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, was up 2.69%.
At the same time, the extended blue-chip index, BET-XT, which includes the 25 most liquid stocks, rose 2.43%, while the benchmark index for investment funds, BET-BK, was up 2.40%.
The BET-FI index, which tracks the SIFs, posted a growth of 0.28%, while BET-NG, the index of the 10 companies from the energy and utilities sectors, gained 2.15%.
According to BVB data, the biggest increases in stock values were recorded by Sinteza (+14.53%), Prefab (+9.20%), and Aquila Part Prod Com (+7.63%).
On the other hand, the stocks of SIF Hoteluri (-14.29%), Transilvania Broker de Asigurare (-4.21%), and Biofarm (-3.50%) were down.
