Alexandra Anghel wins bronze medal at European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava
Romanian athlete Alexandra Anghel won the bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava (Slovakia), in the 72 kg category, after defeating Polish Daniela Tkachuk (8-3) in the decisive match.
Anghel lost, on Thursday, in the quarterfinals to Turkish Nesrin Bash, but reached the requalifications, where she defeated Swedish Elvira Esmeralda Ersson (8-2), before winning the medal.
Also on Friday, in the 55 kg Greco-Roman category, Florin Denis Mihai was defeated by Moldovan Artiom Deleanu in the quarterfinals.
Romania still has one representative in Greco-Roman, Nicu Ojog (97 kg category), Agerpres informs.
Romania’s record so far is two silver medals and one bronze medal. The silver was won by Andreea Beatrice Ana (cat. 53 kg) and Kateryna Zelenykh (cat. 68 kg).
