As many as 3,352 people voted in the diaspora until 9.00 am
A total of 3,352 people voted in the diaspora, on Friday, until 9.00 am (Romanian time), in the second round of the presidential elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
Voting started abroad on Friday at 1.00 am (Romanian time) and by 9.00 am, 324 Romanian citizens had gone to the polling stations, and 3,028 voters had voted by mail, the total number of votes cast abroad currently being 3,352, according to AEP.
In the first polling station opened, in New Zealand, 22 Romanian citizens voted. Also, 114 Romanian voters voted in Australia, 77 in Japan, 29 in Thailand, 21 in Korea, 16 in China, eight in Vietnam and the Philippines each, seven in Malaysia, and five in India.
